Management and Board of Directors
The directors and officers of Clayton Biotechnologies also serve as the board of the Clayton Foundation and its several supporting entities. All have had long standing relationships with the Clayton Foundation and collectively bring extensive expertise in non-profit organization matters, finance, law, biomedical sciences and drug development. They oversee and execute our mission to fund and conduct medical research to discover the cause, prevention and cure of diseases and to facilitate the transfer of this research from the bench to the bedside for the benefit of humankind.
Brian W. Crozier

has been a Trustee of the Foundation and its supporting entities since 2019 and is currently serving as chairman. After receiving his law degree from The University of Texas, Mr. Crozier has been engaged in the practice of law representing nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations. He is former Chair (1998-2000) of the Tax-Exempt Organizations Committee of the Tax Section of the State Bar of Texas and a former member of the Gulf Coast Area TE/GE Council. Prior to law school, Mr. Crozier was a practicing CPA for several years with experience at both a large national accounting firm and a smaller local firm. Mr. Crozier has acted as legal counsel to the Foundation for more than thirty years.
Jarred W. Sloan

has been a financial and investment officer with the organization for thirty years. As a CPA, he was a partner in a multinational CPA firm with various leadership positions, and his experience includes private, not-for-profit, and public companies, as well as those with initial public offerings. Mr. Sloan has served on several boards of directors. Mr. Sloan graduated from Baylor University.
Joan S. Dunlap

has provided financial and accounting expertise to the Foundation and its supporting entities for almost thirty years and is currently serving as a Trustee and an officer. She was previously employed with a multinational CPA firm for thirteen years as an auditor, examining the financial statements for private, public and not-for-profit companies. Aside from financial and accounting expertise matters, she maintains and manages patents and license agreements. Ms. Dunlap has also served on numerous boards with leadership positions of other not-for-profits and was honored with a “Woman of Distinction” award in 2010 for her exemplary volunteer service within the Houston community. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin.
Alexandra Richardson
Director and Business Development
Alexandra Richardson
Ph.D., CLP
has twenty-five years of experience in life sciences business development as well as the funding of early-stage research towards its translation into medical products. She was previously a licensing officer for the University of Geneva before joining Clayton Biotechnologies full time in 2009. She has been a Trustee of the Foundation since 2024. She has held active board positions in Swiss biotechnology companies and is Vice President of the board for Geneva-based Fondation pour Recherches Médicales. She also has provided services in business development, research and intellectual property strategy for several biotech companies, and taught several courses on these topics. Dr. Richardson holds an ACS-accredited B.A. in Chemistry from Swarthmore College and a doctoral degree in biochemistry from the University of Geneva, with award for the best Ph.D. thesis at the Medical School.

Robert L. Evans Jr
CPA
has been involved with the financial, investment and information technology activities of the organization for over thirty-eight years and has been serving as an officer since 2011. Mr. Evans has served as a board member of several volunteer organizations. Mr. Evans graduated from Houston Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Accounting and Computer Information Systems Management.
Sally Hartman
Legal counsel
Sally Hartman
J.D., LL.M.
earned her J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law, and her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University. She began her legal career at a Texas-based AM Law 200 firm focusing on federal income tax, estate tax and wealth planning, and state and local taxation. More recently and for the past ten years, she has been representing Clayton Foundation for Research and its several affiliated organizations. In her capacity in this role, Ms. Hartman has developed a niche practice at the intersection of nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, and biotechnology law.
